Our primary techniques use molecular and cellular approaches to understand proteolysis based mechanisms that lead to specific substrate processing during basic cellular events. We draw from several disciplines, including&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.biochem.umass.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">biochemistry<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bio.umass.edu\/micro\/\" target=\"_blank\">microbiology.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Our lab is always interested in enthusiastic students of all levels who are motivated to understand fundamental and biological questions. We are part of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bio.umass.edu\/mcb\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MCB graduate program<\/a>, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.umass.edu\/cbi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Chemistry-Biology Interface Program<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/btp.umass.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Biotechnology Training Program<\/a>, and the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.umass.edu\/ials\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> Institute for Applied Life Sciences<\/a> here at UMass-Amherst.
