Project: Microarray data analysis of BR transduction pathway and proteomic analysis of brs1 in Arabidopsis thaliana.

Responsible for:  microarray data analysis of wild type and BR signaling transduction mutants: TCP1, BRI1, BAK1, and BRS1; proteomic analysis of differentially expressed genes in wild type, overexpressing lines and knockdown mutants of BRS1 using 2D-DIGE; analysis of BRS1 isoforms modifications using 2-DE, Western Blot and MS

Ph.D. dissertation project:  Proteomic analysis of seed and endosperm development in rice.

Responsible for:  Rice seed development characterization using stereo microscopes and SEM; protein extractions, 2-DE (or 2D-DIGE), MS/MSMS ; RT-PCR for characterization of key genes expression; cytological assays: ATP assay, H2O2 detection, etc.

M.S. degree thesis project: Genetic map construction using molecular markers and QTL mapping for important agronomic characters in wheat.

Advisor: Dr. Qixin Sun

Responsible for: Screening the appropriate molecular markers displaying different appearance in parent lines and offspring genotyping (RILs); constructing the genetic map with MAPMAKER/EXP3.0 software; quantification of agronomically important traits (plant height, heading time etc) within the population and QTLs analysis using QTLMAPPER1.6 and QTLNetwork  software.
