My project aims to understand the function of ATAD3 genes in Arabidopsis thaliana. I am working on identifying homozygous single-knockout mutants of the ATAD3 genes, which were constructed using CRISPR-Cas9. In another project, I am generating transgenic plants with amiRNA-mediated reduction of one ATAD3 gene in the background of a single knockout mutant of a different ATAD3 gene. This approach creates a partial loss-of-function mutant, addressing the challenge posed by the lack of phenotype in single and double-knockout ATAD3 mutants, which limits genetic analysis.
