Prem Patel Passed the ASBMB Certification Exam with Distinction

Former Vierling Lab Member, Prem Patel (’21) received this great news:

On behalf of the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, we are pleased to inform you that you have successfully passed the 2021 ASBMB Certification Exam with distinction. Out of the nine hundred and thirty eight students that took the exam this year, roughly 38% met the threshold for degree certification and of that 38%, only 13% met the threshold for certification with distinction. We commend you on this achievement – congratulations!

Prem told us,  “After being a BMB student at UMass, I was definitely overprepared for the exam. Any of the undergrads in the lab should definitely take it when they get the chance.”
